~ Wild Lotus Yoga Classes ~

Our goal is to make yoga as accessible as possible so we offer a wide variety of ongoing classes for beginners and beyond and for the whole family. In each class teachers share, in their own creative way, a monthly theme that connects the practice of yoga to life away from the mat.

Abbreviated Labor Day Schedule
On Monday, September 6th we will hold only the following three classes:
9am All Levels Flow
4:30pm Restorative Yoga
6pm All Levels Flow

Class Descriptions

Choose from a wide variety of classes to match your intentions for practicing yoga. Beginners will be most comfortable in the ongoing Lotus Roots and Floating Lotus classes, our 5 week Intro to Yoga Course, and 12 week Building The Foundation session.

Floating Lotus (Serenity) emphasizes slowing down the fast pace of life with gentle postures, relaxation exercises, and calming music designed to melt away stress and to center awareness. Students are invited to work with yoga and breath awareness more purely as a vehicle for deep relaxation. In Floating Lotus (Restorative) the body is supported in gentle yoga poses using bolsters and blankets and small adjustments are offered to enhance relaxation in the pose. Offers a chance to unwind from our hectic day to day lives, release muscular tension and emotional stress, connect more deeply with our inner essence, and promote healing from within.

Roots explores the foundations of yoga practice and focuses in more detail on healthy alignment and body mechanics in postures. For beginners and beyond.

Sunday Morning Community Soul Time and Meditation offers an intentional space to come and savor spiritual practice and meditation. Each week a different Wild Lotus teacher guides a 30 minute experience followed by a period of 20-30 minutes of quiet meditation. Practices include: visualization, readings, chanting, stories, dance, breathing, artwork, journaling, philosophy, and more. By donation. All donations given to a different charity each month.

Flow emphasizes the practice of connecting breath and motion in a fluid style of movement. Flow-Waves classes include sequences from Kali Ray Tri-Yoga with a strong emphasis on wavelike spinal movement.

Yoga-Pilates Fusion is a challenging class that integrates the best of these two powerful practices with emphasis on flexibility, balance, and core strength taught in a manner that stimulates the body, mind, and spirit.

Lotus Power is a vigorous vinyasa-style class that emphasizes strength, endurance, and cleansing through a flow of postures connected on the breath to awaken vitality and inspiration. Held in a warm room. Experience with yoga is recommended.

Hot Lotus is a vinyasa style class held in a room with extra heaters to enhance flexibility and detoxification. Experience with yoga is recommended. Please bring towel.

5 Week Intro to Yoga Courses are ideal for beginners who wish to learn in a slower step-by-step manner, systematically building experience and knowledge each week. See course subtitle for emphasis of each course including: "Strength, Balance, and Flexibility" -- "Stress Relief, Relaxation, and Meditation" -- and "Kundalini Yoga, Chanting, and Meditation".

5 Week Course - Nourish Yourself, Feed Your Life: An Integrative Approach To Healthy Eating and Self Care. Participants are guided in an integrative approach to holistic health that includes yoga, meditation, food education, and self care in creating a healthier, happier lifestyle.

6 Week Course - Yoga for Athletes. Are persistent aches or nagging injuries preventing you from fully enjoying your favorite sport? Do you want to reinvigorate your muscles as well as your mind? Transform your flexibility, balance and strength? Feel and perform better in your body and overhaul your awareness in this unique and revitalizing path to physiological refinement. This course is open to everyone from the endurance athlete to those looking to jumpstart a mind-body fitness routine. No previous yoga experience required! Drop-ins welcome. This course introduces participants to Yoga Tune Up®, a veritable IQ test for your body. It infuses traditional yoga with calisthenics and self-care to heal and recondition overused and underused muscles and tissues. In the first class, you will guide your body through directions of movement; get acquainted with fellow athletes; learn which sports are represented; and take note of concerns to be addressed in the subsequent five sessions.

Turn Stress Into Bliss: A Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy 6 Week Group Process is a proven method of yoga, meditation, silence, mindfulness and dialog that supports befriending the body, reducing stress, increasing  happiness, acting from inner truth, and opening to the flow of creativity.

12 Week Session: Building The Foundation is a progressive series designed to help beginning and newer students set the foundation of a sound yoga practice by introducing the transformative system of Anusara Yoga. This series of classes is also appropriate for those who are familiar with other systems of yoga and desire to build a practice from the ground up. We will explore many of the standard yoga poses through the lens of the Universal Principles of Alignment; these alignment principles are designed to help the body return to its optimal blueprint, thus developing strength, flexibility, balance and healing energy. The session will also explore the basics of the radically life-affirming and celebratory vision underlying our yoga practice so that we can expand our hearts and find more joy in our being. Come, step into the mystery of your own heart, mind, and body.

Deepening Your Practice is a class designed to help intermediate yoga practitioners take their practice to the next level. We review the Universal Principles of Alignment of Anusara Yoga and introduce more refined alignment to increase students' understanding of basic yoga postures as well as to help students access more advanced postures. We also dive deeper into the mystery of the heart by exploring the radically life-affirming vision of the Tantric philosophy underlying this elegant system of yoga. Come, dive deeper into the flow of Grace and unleash your full potential! Students should have at least 6 months of regular yoga practice and instruction, be familiar with the names and forms of basic yoga postures, and be able to do a half handstand at the wall without assistance. Work on inversions, back bends, and arm balances will be a regular part of the class. If you have any questions regarding your qualifications for the class, please talk to Laura.

Lotus Buds Kids Yoga is a fun class designed for children from K-4th grade. Kids learn to relax their bodies and their minds while being guided through yoga postures, breathing techniques, art, movement, storytelling, and play.

Tweens Yoga is a class designed to help foster physical, emotional and social wellbeing for children 9-12 years old.. This class will offer a creative and fun combination of mindful movement, relaxation, and breathing techniques. Yoga is a wonderful way to help children access their innate wisdom, build self-respect as well as respect for others.

Prenatal Yoga combines Mamaste Yoga prenatal postures, breathing exercises, and meditation to prepare expecting mothers for childbirth and beyond. For women in their second and third trimesters of pregnancy.

Postnatal Yoga is designed for new mothers and their infants (from newborn to sitting). The focus is on regaining strength and flexibility following childbirth and for parents to relax and connect with their baby and other new parents. Women should be cleared for exercise by their doctor.

Private Sessions

Private Yoga Lessons emphasize hands-on assistance and guidance in a one-on-one yoga experience tailored to the student's needs and intentions. Recommended for those who wish to deepen their practice with the personal guidance of a teacher, for beginners who prefer working one-on-one to spark a yoga practice, and for people with special needs or physical conditions. Sessions can be booked for individuals, pairs, families, or groups.

Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy Sessions are delivered one-on-one, usually for an hour to an hour and a half. Through assisted yoga postures and non-directive dialogue, practitioners guide clients to experience the connection of their physical and emotional selves. Using focused breathing, this connection is held and explored, fostering release, personal growth and healing. For more info visit www.pryt.com

The Sweetpeace Wellness Special is a private session integrating meditation, yoga, and health coaching with Wild Lotus' in-house holistic health counselor and yoga teacher Farah Gokturk. The session is designed to cultivate breath awareness, enrich the senses, create connection to the body through asana, and explore a deep, intuitive understanding of nourishment through food and self-care. Please bring pen and paper.
