The Freedom to Breathe is a 5 Week online beginner’s course open to 12 participants exploring breath and movement in the community of Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC). Utilizing the Zoom platform to connect us safely from our homes, we will practice a series of breathing techniques as a tool to shift consciousness, calm the nervous system, restore balance and connect with our heart. As we navigate the world inside bodies of color, the spaces where we can show up fully and speak our truth are limited. Coming together to understand the effect of trauma along with the impact of generational inherited conversations and behaviors places us in a position to gain control of our power. We are magical beings that possess the divine ability to heal ourselves individually and collectively. I would love to share space with you as we examine how breath, movement and community are resources in our healing.

Each week, you’ll be invited to practice the techniques at home to integrate them into your life. Recordings of the sessions will also be available. The last session on September 6th is during Labor Day weekend, where we’ll be reviewing and engaging in a closing compassion meditation. If you are unable to participate in that session, a recording will be provided.

All the profits of this course will go to Kina and the creation of a yoga and meditation program in schools she’ll be guiding to support BIPOC youth as they navigate our new world.

Course Dates: August 9th, 16th, 23th, 30th, and September 6th.
Time: August 9th: 2pm – 4pm | August 16th, 23rd, 30th and September 6th: 2pm – 3:30pm

  • comfortable, quiet environment

  • computer or phone with access to Zoom

Space limited. Reserved for 12 BIPOC participants, so early registration recommended.
